Penny-farthing Four Counties Ride

Any CCC members out and about this week may encounter a man riding a penny-farthing. His name is Peter Berry, and he is riding through four counties (Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire) over 6 days to raise money for YoungDementia UK. He himself was diagnosed with young onset dementia at the age of 50. If you do see him, please give him your encouragement. If you would like to read more about the ride, the charity, or Peter himself, you can do that here.

Club time trial - Thursday 13 June

Congregation area

Our Club Time Trial on Thursday 13 June is a Come and Try It event at Bottisham. The course starts at Bottisham on the A1303 and proceeds eastwards, circling the roundabout on the outskirts of Newmarket, then retracing to the start.

Unlike our normal club events, you do not have to be a member of a cycling club to enter. No preference is given to CCC members - it is a case of first come first served. Why not give it a go?

There is no entry fee to ride this event.

You must be at least 12 years old and if under age 18 we require a completed Parental Consent (for club events). No special equipment or clothing is necessary but if under 18 you must wear an approved helmet.

We recommend that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to your bike in a position visible to following road users and is active whilst riding the event.

First rider off at 19:16. If you are new to time trialling, we suggest you arrive around 18:45 so we have time to familiarise you.
