Top Tips

Align maker's label with valve
We are now into the puncture season (three on a group ride last Wednesday).

To more easily locate the cause of a puncture, should the tyre be removed from the wheel rim, install your tyres so that the maker's label is aligned with the valve. This will give a reference point for inspection of the tyre when the inner tube perforation is located.

Top Tips (an occasional series)

Sunday 22 November was very cold (zero degrees at 9am).

To ensure warm fingers and toes you may like to consider chemical hand and/or foot warmers. These economical items (otherwise known as T-bags) will transform a ride when the temperature is below 5 degrees C.

Available from Tesco click & collect: -

The Hand Warmers necessitate the use of mittens rather than gloves.

The Foot Warmers come with an adhesive backing to keep them in place on top of your socks.

Currently available with Clubcard boost.

From Cycling Weekly 22 Oct 2015

Question
What is your best advice for coping with a really long bike ride?
Answer
If you have to cope you shouldn't be on the bike. Every pedal stroke is a gift. We all have an allotted finite number of miles. Enjoy each one.
