Clare Cunningham wins her ITU event in South Africa

Our very own Clare Cunningham has just returned from South Africa, having taken part in the ITU Paratriathlon Event on 1st March.
She won her event by over 9 minutes and had the fastest split in each of the 3 disciplines in her category (Women's PT4) Well done Clare!

Clare's background is Paralympic swimming; competing in the 1992 and 1996 Paralympic Games, winning a gold in World Record time and 4 silver medals in 1992 at the age of 15.  In 2009 she took up Paratriathlon and became World, European and British Champion in that year. Since 2009 she has won a medal at every World Championships.  She is currently part of the UK Sport National Lottery Funded Paratriathlon World Class Performance Squad, aiming to compete in her third Paralympic Games in 2016.

Clare is looking forward to the start of our Club TT season - this writer is nervous already!
