Fancy a Holiday?!?

Mark Smallwood has just returned from a cycle holiday in the Pyrenees.

Given that it seems a popular destination for CCC'ers (as evidenced by this photo) here it is on the website

I've just got back from a fantastic holiday in the Pyrenees- if any of you fancy doing a few cols (such as those the TdF riders will be doing next Sunday), I'd highly recommend the place we stayed at (Jan & Julia, Gabriel and James Ward were there too)- it's called Allant (www.allant.fr) and is run by a lovely British couple.

She's a great cook so the food is fantastic, and he's a very good cyclist and very helpful with route suggestions etc. The place, comes with a pool and is a very relaxing place to recuperate post-ride, it's in the foothills of the mountains so provides lots of great routes that don't involve the big cols as well.

Please ask me (Mark) , if you want any more information!

Tour de France Fan Park

Dear All,

It looks like the TDF is going to be more popular than ever this year!

I've been contacted with an advert for a fan park in London.

Their website is: tourdefrancefanpark.co.uk
Email: info@tourdefrancefanpark.co.uk

They're contacting cycle clubs with the suggestion that people cycle to the event.

Donald has confirmed that "we are hoping to make it bigger and better for next year when the tour comes to Britain."

Bikes for sale!

Hi All,

I've received two requests to advertise (soon-to-be) second hand bikes.

They're actually a Pinarello and a Giant -  have a look at the message site:

Fancy an out of the ordinary cycling holiday next year?!

I don't normally mention cycle holidays - I get quite a few emails. But never one that has Africa as the destination!

Dennis Warner is a triathlete who lives in Essex. He's sent this to me:

After several years of consideration I have decided to try to entice others out to  Africa for some training next winter. Making people aware of a new venture is the most difficult part.
The majority of the training is cycling. My website gives information regarding what is going to be on offer. I believe Rwanda is the best location to train during the worst part of the English winter.
Would it be possible to make Cambridge CC club members aware of this undertaking. The hardest part of starting a new business is the promotion of it, so I would be very grateful.

Winter training at altitude in the warmth and sunshine of  Africa

Starting in January 2014 a triathlon/cycling training camp will be available to those who want to escape the cold and wet of a North European winter.

Rwanda is an ideal location. It is a safe country to visit, warm and dry, at altitude and is known as ‘The Land of a Thousand Hills’.

Visit the website:  www.triathlontrainingrwanda.co.uk  for more information.

Many thanks,

Dennis Warner
